WAVE TRAIN PLASMA

Research and Development

Wave Train Plasma has patented a device that contains plasma without the use of external magnets.

Opposing negatively charged cathodes hold a plasm in a coherent, stable structure that can be held indefinitely.

The potential applications are numerous.

2 cathodes are oriented 180 degrees of each other.
As the pressure is reduced, the negative glow portion of the glow discharge begin to merge.
At lower pressures the negative glow regons combine to create a single plasma structure.
The cathodes in this prototype can be seen in the center if this image with the pointed anode on the left.
Here we see plasma held between the cathodes and ions streaming from the anode.
Because there are no external magnets, the plasma is able to take on a stable form.

Though glow discharge is well known.

What happens when you invert 2 glow discharges oriented 180 degrees of each other is not known.

Research opportunities are available.
